FedEx to restructure to cut costs

The shipping company could boost its bottom line by $2 billion by restructuring.

This final note today, a counterpoint, perhaps, to our story about same-day service that's all the rage now.

You're going to be seeing fewer FedEx trucks and vans on the road starting soon. The company said today it's gonna restructure, in part because there's less demand for their signature 'if it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight' service.

What there absolutely, positively has to be is profit. FedEx figures this is gonna boost its bottom line by almost $2 billion in the process.
