Sad news indeed. Mr. Johnson's weekly piece was a highlight of my week's end, and he will be missed. Happy trails, Mr. J.

I'm so sorry to hear that David Johnson is leaving Marketplace. I've listened to him for most of the 19 years Marketplace has been on the air. I've looked forward to his insights and good humor at the end of many a volatile week. He will certainly be missed.

Why is David Johnson leaving? Where is he going? When was this decided? My husband and I listen every Friday to Mr. Johnson despite our usually being in seperate cities. We call each other up and listen together. Please reconsider.

I'm saddened.

Ever since I seriously started listening to public radio in 2004, I've looked forward to 6:30 on Fridays, to find out what David Johnson thought of the week in the Markets. His humorous insight will be missed.

I was shocked to hear that David Johnson will no longer be heard on Marketplace. For me, David is a significant aspect of Marketplace and someone I always look forward to hearing from. David's calm philosophical manner and excellent perspective provide necessary balance to the frequent bad news we hear on Marketplace (and to the cynicism we hear when there is good news!) Please, can you reconsider??

I know nothing about money or stocks or finance but I always loved listening to David Johnson. It is clear from the other comments that he will be missed. Why didnt Market Place give some details about where he was going and what he will be doing? How about some closure here guys?

I am so sad that David Johnson is leaving. I truly look forward to his insightful comments. Why does he have to go?

Say it ain't so David!

First Lou Rukeyser and all the great talent he uncovered. Now your commentary will be off the air. Best of luck in whatever comes next. I hope MARKETPLACE will find another insightful thoughtful and fun participant for my Friday night commute home.

I will miss the common sense, straight forward discussions and banter every Friday. I did not see this coming. Is David just leaving for normal retirement, slowdown??
