In his State of the Union speech last night, President Obama said he hopes to bring manufacturing jobs back to the country from overseas. But with countries like Apple firmly planted in factories abroad, will that ever happen?

The manufacturing industry is hiring again, but companies are looking for workers with skills in mechanical and electrical engineering.

According to the Institute for Supply Management, in December a key indicator of manufacturing health was at a six-month high.

Weekly jobless claims in the U.S. dropped to 364,000 last week. That's 4,000 fewer than the week before and the smallest number since early 2008.
