The U.S. House Intelligence Committee has said that Huawei and Chinese telecom-equipment supplier ZTE pose a security risk and the U.S. government should avoid using their equipment. The committee also recommended that American companies should be blocked from carrying out mergers involving two Chinese telecommunications firms.
