Protesters remain on the streets in Egypt after President Hosni Mubarak announced he intends to stay in power for the time being. Businesses and the Egyptian stock market were supposed to open this weekend, but they are likely to remain closed.

Egypt calculates the costs of political turmoil

According to one bank's estimate, the unrest in Egypt has cost at least $300 million a day in lost business, Internet commerce and wages. And with no end in sight for the tumult, the costs can only go up.
