Today, President Obama is expected to nominate former federal prosecutor Mary Jo White to head the Securities and Exchange Commission. White, a former U.S. prosecutor turned white-collar defense lawyer, spent almost 10 years as U.S. Attorney for the southern district of New York. She led the prosecution of mob boss John Gotti, and has spent many years defending corporations in white collar cases. Next stop? Wall Street.

Also, we catch up with Marketplace Morning Report host Jeremy Hobson who is reporting all week from Miami to find out that diverse city can tell us about the new "American Dream." Spanish-language broadcaster Univision is headquartered there. Jeremy visited the network to get a look inside the exploding market for Hispanic media.

You can hear more of his reporting from Miami including his interview with Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, Spirit Airlines CEO Ben Baldanza,  billionair "condo king" Jorge Perez, and an exploration into the city's "LeBron James effect."

Also in the news: Strong manufacturing numbers out today and weekly jobless claims hit a 5-year low. Netflix said it turned a profit last quarter, while forecasters had expected a loss. And finally, Jolly and happy as he may be, Frosty The Snowman won't save your home from flooding. British officials are backtracking on some surprising anti-flooding advice. The Environment Agency advised Britons to build snowmen so that snow doesn't melt as fast. Tightly packed snow does take longer to melt. But the agency later said snowman building, while fun, won't really make much of a difference for flooding.
