For Marketplace Money, Friday, October 21, 2011

This week we try to make a few things clearer for you folks. We take a look at how the Health Reform Act will affect you during open enrollment options, including some money-saving tips for health care. We take a look at how colleges are trying to give prospective students a more accurate price tag for a college education. Jason Zweig of the Wall Street Journal illuminates why we cling onto “loser” stocks, even though, well, we’re losing money. We also learn why high testosterone levels may make you a poor negotiator.

We also learn of a new protest movement: Bank Transfer Day. We learn why an art gallery owner decided to rally against corporate banks. Comedian Tim Bedore talks about trying to separate mind and heart when it comes to determining whether something is trash or family heirloom. Reporter Jennifer Collins visited the Los Angeles Arena, where over the weekend there will be a free health clinic. Both insured and uninsured patients are lining up to have medical procedures done, namely dental work. And here are the songs we played:

  • Ring The Bell – YachtBuy
  • Downtown LA – J.J. CaleBuy
  • Soft – Washed OutBuy
