Apple could unveil a virtual personal assistant

Mary Dooe Oct 4, 2011

Many wait in anticipation of today’s Apple product announcement — the first since Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO because of health issues.

One of the rumors swirling about the possible outcome of today’s meetings involves a new kind of virtual personal assistant.

Last April, Apple bought the company that makes the app Siri, and many are speculating that this will be one of the biggest announcements of the day.

The software goes above and beyond voice recognition already present on many phones, and instead is billed as a type of artificial intelligence.
