Amazon will start putting stuff in lockers at 7-Eleven for pickup

John Moe Sep 8, 2011

Because apparently we live in 1997. Reports are coming out of England and Seattle about the emergence of Amazon lockers located in high traffic retail stores. The idea is that you order something, it gets sent to that locker, you go down and pick it up. It’s for people who might not be home when the mail comes (with their VHS copy of Field of Dreams) and don’t want it stolen. John Cook of GeekWire had heard about this program and tracked down some lockers at a 7-Eleven in Seattle where the clerk said the program would be starting this week, possibly Friday. That’s tomorrow. Amazon is reportedly looking into UK locations too.
