AT&T offers to bring 5000 jobs home

Marc Sanchez Aug 31, 2011

IF! The government approves of the company’s acquisition of T-Mobile. The jobs are call center positions currently overseas. From SFGate:

“At a time when many Americans are struggling and our economy faces significant challenges, we’re pleased that the T- Mobile merger allows us to bring 5,000 jobs back to the United States and significantly increase our investment here,” AT&T Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Randall Stephenson said in the statement.

Meanwhile I’m seeing something online about the US Government officially filing suit to stop the merger. That’s kind of a big deal. Will keep following up on that one.
