Kindle textbook rental

John Moe Jul 18, 2011

Amazon has just announced a new program for renting out textbooks on Kindles, and it’s likely to save students a lot of money. So if you need a book for class, you can buy it on Kindle and have it forever (if you really want) or rent it for as few as 30 days and as much as a year, the price being prorated the longer you have the e-book. So for instance this accounting textbook is $183.53 as a new hardcover, $109.20 as a Kindle book, and $38.29 as a one month rental. Amazon also offers third party book sales and used book sales but the availability of those are somewhat inconsistent.
