Adding tequila to the Diageo liquor family

This final note today, once again an alcoholic beverage to wrap things up. Yesterday it was President Obama laying down a couple of pounds for a pint of Guinness in Ireland. Today, it’s the giant beverage conglomerate Diageo and tequila.

Bloomberg News says the owner of Johnnie Walker Scotch and Smirnoff Vodka is interested in buying Jose Cuervo. The price tag is $2 billion. Cuervo’s family-owned, based on a grant from the Spanish king back in 1758.
