Amazon pretty much giving away Stefanie Gaga’s album

John Moe May 23, 2011

I’m sorry: LADY Gaga. The latest album is called Born This Way and features cover art of Gaga’s head attached to a motorcycle. Born this way? One imagines a painful delivery for Mother Gaga. Anyway, Amazon’s selling it for 99 cents as a digital download. All Things D surmises that this must be a loss leader type of thing for Amazon to support it’s music store and cloud storage service, neither of which have been heard from much since the cloud thing was launched in March. I wouldn’t be so convinced that Amazon is paying Gaga at regular rates on this thing. I think someone who eats fame like Stefanie does is savvy enough to see that the future of music success does not lie in the sale of the recordings of songs.
