Solar flare eruption recorded by NASA (Video)

A large solar flare was captured on video by NASA’s Solar Dynamic Observatory this week. According to the BBC, the eruptions lasted about 90 minutes and “created a huge tendril of plasma, known as a solar prominence.”

Solar flares threaten to disrupt power grids and communications systems on Earth, as Marketplace’s Alisa Roth has reported.
