Kenneth Cole has a Twitter fail

Bob Moon Feb 3, 2011

A final note, from the Marketplace “Oh no they didn’t!” file. I really can’t say it any better than this tweet I spotted this afternoon: “Bet it sucks to be Kenneth Cole’s PR team right now.”

Seems earlier today, the fashion folks at Kenneth Cole launched their own public relations crisis with this tweet — and I quote: “Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available online… -KC.”

Ever since, the outraged Twitter-verse has been responding with suggestions for new ad tweets, such as: “People from New Orleans are flooding into Kenneth Cole stores.” The company has since issued a tweet saying it wasn’t intending to make light of a serious situation.
