A costly ticket to the World Economic Forum

Kai Ryssdal Jan 25, 2011

This final note today, courtesy of Andrew Ross Sorkin and the Dealbook blog in the New York Times. The World Economic Forum’s about to start over in Davos, Switzerland. The annual gathering of the economically rich and famous. Emphasis here on rich.

Sorkin’s run some of the numbers and it breaks down like this: basic membership in the Economic Forum and a ticket to get in the door in Davos will run you $71,000. That’s the lowest individual cost. Companies pay, well, a good deal more, topping out at $622,000 for a party of five.

Food, airfare and lodging? Not included.
