China’s president Hu Jingtao is in Washington for a visit. It’s about as normal as state visits go, but Scott Tong reports that it’s also just another sign of China’s global business aspirations. After Jingtao leaves, President Obama’s got other business to tend to: next week’s State of the Union speech. Commentator and former speechwriter David Frum gave his advice.

Reports came out today that bank profits are rising, but revenue is still lagging. An economic battle over renovations at O’Hare airport in Chicago is brewing. Atlantic City plans for more conventions to bring more tourism.
