Apple’s point-of-sale system is at Old Navy

John Moe Dec 2, 2010

If you’ve ever bought something at an Apple retail store, you may have seen the little credit card swipers that employees carry around. You don’t have to go a cash register, you just give the person your card, they run it, they print out a receipt, it’s really handy. Now Apple is beginning to export the technology and Old Navy appears to be first in line with each store getting exactly one of these things. It’s a pilot program but it’s kind of an existential expansion for Apple as the consumer products company moves into the business machinery sphere.
