5 ways to rethink food and drink at work

Matt Berger Nov 25, 2010

Being environmentally friendly at work when it comes to eating breakfast and lunch or taking coffee breaks can be tough for those of us who work outside of the home.

Eating out often comes with all sorts of throw-away packaging (coffee cups, wrappers, Styrofoam, plastic bags, plastic forks, and more plastic). Here are six ways to cut back on waste.

  1. Become a Leftover Lover. Pack up household remains and take home leftovers at restaurants
  2. Stop wasting food.
  3. Swap Out Your Plastic Food Containers for Glass or Stainless Steel.
  4. Be wise about portion size.
  5. Don’t use disposable coffee cups at the office.

And by the way, on you’re way out to lunch, take the stairs.
