Oh sure, no one recalls the days of rappers shooting each other outside of night clubs with any special fondness, but it does feel a bit hollow when a big rap beef is handled over YouTube. Granted, it's hard to have a whole lot of credibility anyway when one of the participants is MC Hammer.

It all started when Jay-Z, appearing on the new Kanye West track "So Appalled", said "Hammer went broke so you know I'm more focused /I lost 30 mil' so I spent another 30/ 'Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can't hurt me" Hammer responded with a ludicrously awful YouTube video called "Better Run Run" where he chases a chubby actor playing Jay-Z through the woods. The video has over 650,000 hits so far (oh of course I was one of them).

Now Jay-Z is laughing it all off saying he didn't realize that Hammer's notorious money problems were off the table.
