Rdio becomes open to all

John Moe Aug 3, 2010

Rdio is a $9.99 per month unlimited streaming music service that did a soft launch in the US and Canada a couple of months ago. You needed to be invited to join. Now it’s open to everyone. I got an invitation a while back and tried it out for a few days. It’s superior to Pandora in lots of ways since you can choose what song you’d like to hear and you’re not bothered by ads. The drawbacks are the monthly charge and the fact that it’s all browser based, you’re not downloading, you’re just streaming. But you can save songs and build playlists. It’s pretty cool, I’m impressed. I’m listening to the new Big Boi record.
