"Freedom From Porn"

John Moe May 17, 2010

In a recently published email exchange with Gawker writer Ryan Tate, Apple’s Steve Jobs says that the iPad will offer customers “freedom from porn”. That’s sort of the eyebrow raiser in an exchange that’s mostly about what you might call “computery stuff”. I think what’s really interesting here is the personal nature of Jobs’ writing. It’s not being filtered through a communications office. Granted, it’s Gawker, they publish Gizmodo, we all know what happened, but it’s interesting that he’s allowed to be so candid and cranky.
