Here’s what I’d like to see

So Facebook and Twitter are essentially a microblogging platform. Rather than create a blog post (the old fashioned way), or update a “personal web site” (the really old fashioned way), or publish a zine or something (grampa skateboarder!), you just “update”. It’s still blogging, that is to say it’s still writing. And so it gets accused of being self-obsessed even though it’s no different than Samuel Pepys’ diary, right? But there’s still that point where we stop talking, that point of restraint, it’s just that it’s moved a bit.

I’d like to see someone take this to the next level and update EVERYTHING they do. All foods eaten, all crossings of rooms, trips to store with precise amount spent, all THOUGHTS HAD, everything. Maybe for a week or even just a day and then report back what they found.

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.

You rely on Marketplace to break down the world’s events and tell you how it affects you in a fact-based, approachable way. We rely on your financial support to keep making that possible.

Your donation today powers the independent journalism that you rely on. For just $5/month, you can help sustain Marketplace so we can keep reporting on the things that matter to you.
