Shake-up at Marketplace — and all L.A.

Richard Core Jul 29, 2008

We just got hit with one of the joys of life in Los Angeles — an earthquake that had our downtown office rocking. The preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey is that the quake registered a 5.8 on the Richter scale and was centered 29 miles east-southeast of downtown L.A., near Chino Hills in San Bernardino County.

The quake struck at 11:42 a.m. PDT. Buildings swayed in downtown L.A for several seconds.

Here’s the USGS info.
